Travelers we Meet: Penny, Scarlet & Sunny
This time we are introducing a team. The travelers we meet are actually 3 sisters: Penny, Starlet and Sunny. What they do is extraordinary. The ladies behind “Our Suitcase Adventures”. Want to meet them?
Our roots are in change. Whether changing the state we lived in, the town or just our house, our feet have seldom stayed in one place for very long. I don’t know if any of us truly know the exactly reason why that is or if the reasons are exactly the same for all of us but the fact remains that we love to see the world.
All the natural beauty of creation, culture of peoples, languages, music and richness of a life meant to be enjoyed calls us to its open roads. I suppose that’s one of the things that drew us to join our talents together to create a window to a world of more than what is in our own backyard.
Not everyone can travel to remote and distant lands. Sometimes we can’t either but we wanted to tell our stories of the adventures we’ve enjoyed so as to inspire others to see the world we live in just a little differently. We want you to see the beauty, to seek out the adventures that your own life experiences can bring, to be more present in the moments you live in, to quiet the hurried and rushed nature of an anxious life and see that there just might be more to life than you have come to believe.
We are three women connected not only through our love of travel and adventure, but through blood. Starlet and Penny are sisters and Sunny is Starlet’s daughter. Each of us are at different stages in life. Here in our own words are a brief peek into who we are individually.
Travelers we Meet: Penny
Hi! I’m Penny, a single woman with two grown daughters. Some of my fondest memories of my early childhood are traveling with my family. We seemed to hit the road rather frequently going one place or another around the country.
My young mind was amazed at the variety of landscape one could see in just a day’s drive! As I got older I also began to appreciate the history and the people, and how different – and yet similar – we all are. That’s what I enjoy most about travel and what inspires me to keep looking for new places to explore.
I travel for both work and pleasure. When traveling for work I try to schedule some time for sightseeing and leisure activities. Yes, I am not one of those travel bloggers that travels full time. I do have a 40-hour-a-week job. Maybe one day I will be able to make a living traversing the globe, but for now I have found a job that allows me to work from anywhere. It’s been a long time coming and I am going to make the most of it!
Travelers we Meet: Scarlet
Hi! I’m Scarlet. My husband and I have been married for over 46 years. We have two grown children and two almost grown grandchildren.
Since retiring several years ago, our travel experiences have changed. We are not restricted by a job, or children in school, so we are able to plan a trip anytime of the year and some of our trips are on the spur of the moment.
Unfortunately, we are at times restricted by money, but in that case we plan small day trips. But no matter where we go or who it’s with – our children, grandchildren, friends or just the two of us – it’s always an adventure!
Travelers we Meet: Sunny
Hi! I’m Sunny. I was born in 1971. I’ll let you do the math. I have two children of my own and in 2012 I remarried after almost 9 years of single motherhood. We are now a blended family that counts 5 kids! So, I’ve got plenty of baggage. I don’t travel nearly as much as I’d like to but wherever I go I try to be present and soak up all the beauty that experience has to offer. Every place enriches my life in a different way. The trick is knowing and seeing how because life is beautiful if you know how to see it.
Now that you’ve met them formally we hope you’ll enjoy their “Suitcase Adventures”.
