This tour is rounded a bit on the light side, whic means that the whole adventure will take place over a course of 4 days, 3 nights. But even if it’s just for a few days, that doesn’t mean there’s not a lot to do.

Around this area, with a little help from our descendants, we get to visit not one, but two monasteries, two castles, one of the oldest cities in Romania and a salt mine. And that’s not all; scroll down below to see what we mean.

The price listed in this package is per person.

The first day may be reserved only for arrivals. Between the airport and the city of Iasi. But things may change depending on this. So, for example, if you arrive in the morning/afternoon, we will commence with the city tour.If you arrive in the evening, we will do the city tour the text day. But when you book this package, we will inform you immediately about the time-frame.

NOTE: After you have purchased your plane ticket, send us an e-mail and we will decide together which one is best suited for you. On the itinerary below, the first day starts with the city tour. Again, if you arrive in the evening, Day 1 will be the arrival day, and the start of this tour will proceed the following day.

DAY 1:

  • This time we will be meeting at Iasi Airport. First things first, check-in at the hotel. After that, we will start visiting Iasi, the second largest city in Romania, after Bucharest. Some of the places worth mentioning are The Palace of Culture (neogothical architecture), the Union Square, the Church of the Three Hierarchs , The National Theater Vasile Alecsandri, Saint Nicholas Church and the “Gheorghe Asachi” Library, named the most beautiful library in the world.

  • After we spent the whole day admiring this beautiful city, it’s time for dinner.

DAY 2:

  • After breakfast, we will heat towards Sturdza Castle, a beautiful neo-Gothic building, dating 100 years back, situated in the Miclauseni village. There we will find a library that contains over 60.000 books, weapons, jewelry, silverware, medieval costumes and many more.

  • The following place to visit on our list is the Agapia Monastery,that has one of the largest nunneries in Romania, painted by the famous Nicolae Grigorescu. This is the best place to relax and have lunch, in the middle of a garden loaded with beautiful flowers.

  • The next stop is near Agapia, more specifically, the Varatec Monastery, another splendid place painted in oil by I. Ioan and D. Iliescu.

  • And let’s not forget about Neamt Citadel, a medieval fortress, built in the 14th century during Petru I of Moldavia’s reign. It was used as a defense system.

  • In the evening, we will return to Agapia for dinner and checking-in.

DAY 3:

  • After breakfast we will start the day with Sovata where we will visit the Praid Salt Mine, one of the biggest salt mines in the world. The temperature there is 16 degrees Celsius so a sweater will be good for you. The mine also benefits from treatment facilities with salt; you can also find a chapel, and a salt water pool.

  • The next step, is going on a relaxing ride with the Mocanita, the famous steam train, which was built in 1949 in Poland. In this trip, you will have the opportunity to admire the beautiful landscapes of Transylvania.

  • At the end of the day, it’s dinner time and pack our bags for departing the following day.

DAY 4:

  • Sadly, this is where we will be saying goodbye, after a few glorious days of relaxation.

Iasi

This city is one of the oldest cities in Romania, and is the most important political, economic and cultural centre of the province of Moldavia. Iasi has more than an impressive 100 Orthodox churches, most of them located in the so-called Golden Plateau (Platoul de Aur).

Sturdza Castle

The Sturdza Castle is a beautiful neo-Gothic building, dating over 100 years, situated in the Miclauseni village. Present there is a library collection that contains over 60.000 books, weapons, jewelry, silverware, medieval costumes and many more.

Agapia Monastery

Agapia Monastery, has one of the largest nunneries in Romania, and is painted by the famous Nicolae Grigorescu.

Varatec Monastery

Varatec Monastery was painted in oil by I. Ioan and D. Iliescu. , and it’s the perfect place to relax, meditate and admire the beautiful garden filled with bursting flowers.

Neamt Citadel

A medieval fortress, built in the 14th century during Petru I of Moldavia’s reign. It was a defense system and was considered Moldavia’s finest fortress.

Sovata

As an all season resort, Sovata was first seen as a place for healing back in 1597, but managed to morph into a resort in 1850. This place also brings us Mocanita, a famous train build in Poland in 1949.

Praid Salt Mine

Praid Salt Mine, one of the biggest salt mines in the world. The temperature in there is 16 degrees celsius. It also contains treatment facilities with salt, a chapel, and a salt water pool.

PAYMENT AND CANCELATION POLICIES:

The payment will be received and processed in full, in a minimum of 14 days prior to departure. So, any reservation has to be made 14 days or more before departure. If there are 13 days left before the starting of the tour, you cannot book anymore. If you find yourself in a last minute booking decision, send us an e-mail and we'll find a solution for you.

In the unfortunate case of needing to cancel a reservation for a package, the following terms apply:

  • If you cancel within 14 days before departure, 100% of the total amount payed will be refunded to your account.

  • If you cancel within 7 days before departure, 70% of the total amount payed will be refunded to your account.

  • If you cancel within 6-0 days days before departure, 10% of the total amount payed will be refunded to your account.
