Visit two major cities, a beautiful salt mine, a splendid medieval castle and see where it all started. Scroll down below and prepare to be amazed.

The price listed in this package is per person.

The first day may be reserved only for arrivals. Between the airport and the city of Cluj. But things may change depending on this. So, for example, if you arrive in the morning/afternoon, we will commence with the city tour.If you arrive in the evening, we will do the city tour the text day. But when you book this package, we will inform you immediately about the time-frame.

NOTE: After you have purchased your plane ticket, send us an e-mail and we will decide together which one is best suited for you. On the itinerary below, the first day starts with the city tour. Again, if you arrive in the evening, Day 1 will be the arrival day, and the start of this tour will proceed the following day.

DAY 1:

  • When you arrive at the Avram Iancu International Airport in Cluj, the first thing we do is to check-in the hotel. Then, depending on your arrival time, we will do the city tour, or save it for the last day. We will visit the splendid Botanic Garden, the Evangelic Church with its Old Town Square, Matei Corvin Statue, The Tailor Stronghold, the Transylvanian Museum, The St. Mihail Church. Next we will have dinner at a place called “Cetatuia” where you wil have a wonderful panoramic view of the city.

DAY 2:

  • After breakfast we leave for Turda Salt Mine, the largest salt mine in Europe. There you will encounter a carousel, a 180-seat amphitheater, ping-pong tables, basketball hoops, mini-golf, bowling and also a mini lake where you can rent a boat. Also there is an area with health treatments that draw upon, and takes advantage of the mine’s optimal climate.

  • For lunch we will stop in Alba Iulia, one of the oldest cities in the country, known in ancient times as Apulum. It has many temples, mosaics, thermae and statues, and many said that this original city named Dacian Apulum was a miniature copy of ancient Rome. Here we will stroll along streets of this Habsburg citadel, to discover many historical places as the Roman Catholic Cathedral, the Batthyaneum Library, the Orthodox Cathedral of the Reunification, the Babilon Building, the Union Hall, The Union Museum. After all these, we will have dinner and get ready for the next day.

DAY 3:

  • We will start the day with the Corvin Castle also known as the Hunyad Castle, is one of the most impressive medieval constructions in Romania. The legend says that Vlad the Impaler was imprisoned here for seven years, a period that made him go insane.

  • Next stop will be Sarmizegetusa Regia, which was the capital of the Dacian State, built in the Ist century b.Ch. There is a wonderful place in the nature that is full of history and you will better understand how it all started.

  • As the night is coming, we head to Hunedoara (the region where we visited The Corvin Castle) and spend the night.

DAY 4:

  • Sadly, this is where we will say goodbye,and head back to Cluj Airport.

Cluj Napoca

The Cluj-Napoca Tailors’Tower was built in the 15th century and rebuilt between 1627 and 1629, assuming its present form. It was named after the Tailor’s Guild, who took care and guarded the southeast corner of the city. The Saint Michael Cathedral – is a Gothic-style Roman Catholic church, the second largest church in Trasylvania, after the Black Church in Brasov. The Evangelic Church is a place of worship for the Evangelican Lutheran Church in Cluj-Napoca. It was built between 1816 and 1829m following plans drawn by the architect George Winkle. It harmoniously combines elements of baroque and neoclassic style.

Alba Carolina Fortress in Alba Iulia

Was built between 1714-1738 after the Habsburg conquest of Transylvania and it is considered to be the most representative baroque, Vauban-type state fortress in Romania and one of the largest of this kind in Eastern Europe. The Roman Catholic Cathedral – a medieval architecture jewel, built in the XIIIth century in two stages: 1247-1291 and 1320-1356 and it is placed in the heart of the Alba Carolina Stronghold. The Path of the Three Fortifications – is unique in Europe, because it takes you back 2000 years in history. The Union Hall - the place where on the 1st of December 1918, the document that attests the union of Transylvania with Romania (First time the union of the three Romanian provinces was made by Michael the Brave in 1600 ) was signed.

Turda Salt Mine

The largest salt mine in Europe. There you will encounter a carousel, a 180-seat amphitheater, ping-pong tables, basketball hoops, mini-golf, bowling and also a mini lake where you can rent a boat. Also there is an area with health treatments that draws upon and takes advantage of the mine’s optimal climate.

Corvin Castle

The construction of the Castle started in the 15th century having an old settlement as a starting point. Huffington Post presented this castle as one of the ten most magical constructions of this kind in the world.

Sarmizegetusa Regia

Was the capital and the most important military, religious and political center of the Dacians prior to the war with the Roman Empire. Built on top of a 1200 m high mountain, the fortress, comprising six citadels, was the core of a strategic defensive system in the Orastie Mountains.

PAYMENT AND CANCELATION POLICIES:

The payment will be received and processed in full, in a minimum of 14 days prior to departure. So, any reservation has to be made 14 days or more before departure. If there are 13 days left before the starting of the tour, you cannot book anymore. If you find yourself in a last minute booking decision, send us an e-mail and we'll find a solution for you.

In the unfortunate case of needing to cancel a reservation for a package, the following terms apply:

  • If you cancel within 14 days before departure, 100% of the total amount payed will be refunded to your account.

  • If you cancel within 7 days before departure, 70% of the total amount payed will be refunded to your account.

  • If you cancel within 6-0 days days before departure, 10% of the total amount payed will be refunded to your account.
